Anniversaries under the loupe

"Anniversaries under the loupe" is the name of parental education project, which began in July 2010, run by the Sociotherapeutic Day Room, "The Little Prince." Taking this opportunity, which is celebrated this year anniversaries of important events in Polish history, day room offers a kids reflection on them. This past 90 years since the Battle of Warsaw, 30 th anniversary of the Solidarity movement and the 100th anniversary of Boy Scouts are an opportunity to reflect on the concepts of patriotism and responsibility for their country.

The project shows that the story is not dead and still shapes our contemporary world, a legacy of which can still be used. The historical dimension of reality is most fully approximated by a meeting with Solidarity activists, scouts, trips to the city, during which the "old" Warsaw of the pictures is compared with that of today.

Meritorious opposition activists from the communist era, yet friendly terms with the Association "Open Door", Jan Lityński i Zbigniew Bujak will personally share their experiences and try to provide children with historic bug. Scouts try to point the way to active involvement in the fate of the country and talk about scouting ideals and values. Trips to places associated with breakthrough developments let see the children the story of their own eyes. In addition, children will learn to find information about the history of the Internet, library and chronicles. The project wants to awake in children an interest in modern history, whose impact on the present tense has not yet expired.

All these projects are intended to help 25 children from the Warsaw North Prague understand the importance of history to the present, and give an idea about the basic facts, without which Warsaw and Poland today would not be the same. They will end in an exhibition of artwork made by children inspirating from everything, that they encountered while participating in the project.
